• dom_magma - map export (clicky)

This map has been sitting in my folder unfinished. I originally planned to use it for the map contest, yet had lack of time to finish it due to work.

It took me a long time to get all the details in there (gfx, tiles, blending, lighting, FX etc). Today I decided to finish it and share it right here.

• Map information:
This map was made to ensure either very fast-paced shooting, or slow but sneaky construction and domination.

At both spawns there is a doorway to ensure you can quickly evade spawnkilling. In the middle there are also two switches on either side controlling the side gates to the center.

There are a lot of obstacles either as windows or as sort of machines. Make sure not to miss out on these opportunities to shoot someone right in the face from another room. I also added some spots which allows a person to walk further out stretching a little distance over the magma. These are excellent spots for the use of explosives, turrets or bullet spam.

× Do not upload an edited version of this map. I will not give permission. Editing for personal (server) use is fine but please leave the credits intact, thank you.

• Update: Added ctf_ version as well.

@user C0nan: Could you show me some screenshots of where the lighting is useless? Because I'm pretty sure that I added lighting only where there were machines (yellow, green and white lighting), a domination point or lava.

I might have accidentally pasted a lighting entity while adding them.

Very good graphic but some lightings is needles. I see you put a lot of effort on this but it's not amazing as i thought when i saw pictures, it's only appearances... Take a like for a job you made

Yh, it looks better than other of your maps and the tiles looks very realistic, but is it too big for a dom map, isn't it?

Finally, a map that actually took planning on layout and gameplay instead of randomly placed walls and boxes everywhere.
The map seems to have taken a lot of effort and was planned carefully.

Though, the unusual design and visibility will take some time to get used to, the map is aesthetically pleasing and focused on balanced gameplay.

@user Rainoth, user Pseudon: I always upload in-game screens but I don't like it that when a file exceeds 200 kb that the image will become of lower quality (my mapexport is 2.72 MB). That's why I upload my map exports externally.

@user Yates: I remember once when I have done the same thing, @user DC: said that it's better to use this site when uploading / showing images for a file, it's safer then external hosters. !!!Something like that!!!. PS - Don't hate me, just trying to help...

Edit - Here's a pic.

Why don't you put it into screenshots?

// A bit too narrow to what I'm used to. Not bad of course but odd. Also, you might want to add a bit more pipes on the bottom side of the map. Apart from those two things, it looks great.

@user BcY: I think not. Various rooms have various darknesses, by the way.
