So I set up my dedicated server, see, and I let it sit.
Then, when I come back, the cmd is filled with "[playername]: rank" and then shows his rank. But it FILLS the freaking thing!!! Also, this causes my server to crash...
So I'm wondering if this is deliberate [because it has happened twice already] or if it is some kind of random bug. HELP PL0X!!!

I don't understand the problem. When people say something it will be logged in your console/logfile. ppl can say rank to get their rank. This shouldn't crash your server.
However you can easily disable the rank function and the complete stats system if you have any problems with it.
just press "new game" -> "more" and set "stats" to 0 and/or "stats_rank" to 0

or add the lines
stats 0
stats_rank 0
to the file sys/server.cfg and restart the server.

this will completely disable the stats/ranking (and hopefully all related problems as well)

The ranks [repetitive from the same player] were flying by very quickly, which is what I think might've caused the crash. Plus, I would like people to get a full experience by joining my server, not a limited one; I WANT the players to know how they rank amongst others.

btw: "UBER-fast" saying is not possible because there is a clientside floodprotection. if he says it several times per second he must be hacking.

I LOL'D when I saw the topic. Yeah, I've seen servers mysteriously shut down while I was playing. I was playing in the wF servers and it gave me "Connection Problems" 3 times, so I thought it was a bug. I had no problems anywhere else however...

There's Anti Flood Protection. I just tried spamming a offline server and it worked... NOT.

it adds a 5 second limit for getting the rank. moreover it will kick everyone automatically who spams too much rank messages.
