Analyzing map files is pretty easy. All you need is a hex editor.

You said "programming languages ain't for games, generally." Programming languages usually aren't made SPECIFICALLY for games, but they are still suitable for use in games. I do not need to learn how to read, my English is superior to 90% of the people in this forum already. ( I would say this is because of the vast numbers of people who don't speak it as their first language. )

What differents between C++ and C#?
Maybe this is confusing you so I better explain:

C - The young brother of CPP, fast but less functionallity.[(Default Header)]
C# - Same as C, but has some VB style (MS is the cause)
CPP | C++ - advanced C
Every of the above named languages has it pros and contras.
