Regardless, I thought the script first checks if you're logged in and the IDs match.

On the server, sessions should also be associated with the IP of the client.

So if a cookie were stolen the "hacker" could not use the session because their ip differs from the user.

You can still have multiple logins from the same IP, it just means that these session ids will only work for the IP that authenticated.

That's pretty bad. For most users the IP changes every day / two days. At least in Germany and USA. Almost nobody here has a static IP. So you would have to login every day again...

Edit: I'm unsure of your situation, but for me it's like this; your isp will not change your ip while your router is running. If it did then you might be disconnected while doing something important.

So do you turn off your router at night? Yeah! Save power √

No, I don't shut down my router. But there is something called 24-hour-reconnect. You get reconnected every 24 Hours, most of the time you get a new IP too.

the problem is not very big anyway. I didn't hear about anyone running into problems with it lately so nothing will be changed. the additional password input will stay where it is anyway.

Auto lock topics, where last reply is over 6 month old. This will stop majority of senseless revivals of old topics. IF a person wants to revive particular topic, he/she should write a pm to a moderator or admin.

I would like to suggest a possibility of notification on the main US site about changes in the articles on the wiki that the user has recently changed/followed/created/whatever.
Just some form of green box should do it (like the notification box for new messages).
Not sure if such a thing is possible, but that would be great.
