Hello. My PC has been too hot(like a stove) whenever I play a game. So I decided to clean up the fan. It was the first experience that I opened the inside of my notebook. But I can say that it was a good experience, everything went successfully.

I have cleaned up the fan so the games aren't making my PC too hot now. Everything seems fine unless those fucking sizzles. Looks like it was not that successful work

The thing is, the sizzles are coming only if any game is opened on the PC currently. As an example, if I'd have been listening to music on YouTube, even in the highest volume, it works pretty much fine. However, it all starts when I open a game. Suddenly, the music I've been listening transforms to sandstorm shit or the sounds that are in the game.

Either speaker of the notebook, or headphone; they both make the same thing.

Anybody got a solution, please?

But what I did was, I touched to CPU chip with my fingers! Could it cause anything wrong?

By the way, I do have yet another issue which hard to say if it is about the current issue or not. My CPU GHz is being increased(2.50 or 3) while the PC is idled, but is being decreased to deep lower(1.50~) while doing something(playing a game, listening music, etc.).

I mean, the processor speeds up when I do nothing, but slows down when I do something. Isn't it strange?

I think that when you touched it you removed part of the thermal grease therefore the CPU is overheating because the lack of the grease and because of that the grease is making that cooking sound.

Regarding the clock speed read this:

About your GHz decreased, it's changeable in BIOS, might be when you touch it just options reset. But keep in mind that the more GHz you type the higher temperature it will reach while working.

Noises : might be somewhere oil needed?

You tried to hear, from where the noises are going exactly?

Because there isn't enough thermal paste this happens:
Idle - CPU goes to higher clock speed, no overheating.
Used - CPU goes to lower clock speed, yes overheating.

The overheating makes the CPU go to lower clock speed to prevent any trouble.

Note that might not be the problem, one way to make sure is if you open the laptop again and show us both the CPU and the heat sink to see how much grease is there on them.

The higher your CPU is clocked, the higher will be its power consumption (thus, the heat produced by the processor will also be higher).

The thing you've been experiencing is called throttling and happens when your CPU reaches a certain temperature to prevent additional damage (as high temperatures decrease its lifetime). It holds back your CPU (by lowering its clock) to reach a lower temperature. At a certain point, your computer will also turn itself off.

Laptops are often unrecommended for gaming and intense tasks due to this problems. They often offer subpar cooling most of the times.

Your best bet is to improve your laptop cooling with a thermal paste as SlowPoke suggested and to get a cooling pad.
You should also try the ThrottleStop program, it allows you to control your CPUs clock and voltage, the behavior of the throtling and many other things which may help you reducing its temperature.

And could you ellaborate more about what those sizzles are ? Do you also notice an FPS drop when it happens ? Does your PC get sluggish or only the sound gets affected ?

I used that software. Didn't help me in this case

These come only when CPU works at low speed.

Let me remind you that it doesn't only serve for increasing your CPU clock, you may also use it to reduce it and prevent overheating.

You shouldn't immobilize your CPU to a higher speed if your temps are too high. You should give it a stable lower speed. Tell me which are your idle temperatures and while gaming (preferably, when the throttling starts happening).

You should also make sure that you actually enable the settings, there's various checkboxes and a button that turns the entire software on or off (which by default comes off from what I remember).

Here's my settings:

As you can see I've also enabled the notification area options (it shows my current CPU speed, its temperature and the GPUs one)

Next up, ThrottleStop. CPU is that kind of person that says "yo man, ya ain't gonna tell me what to do" - if it's going to thermal throttle, it will. It's somewhere deep inside and you won't circumvent it. By improving temperatures, you improve speeds: Reduce thermal throttling and get a chance to get Turbo boost clocks. (I achieved a permanent turbo boost +100-200 MHz on my old CPU by undervolting (reducing operating voltages), that also means improving temperatures). Yeah hence you could buy a cooling pad for the notebook.

But we're gonna investigate.
• Download https://github.com/Mysticial/Flops/blob/master/version3/binaries-windows/2013-Haswell.exe benchmark
• Download http://openhardwaremonitor.org/ and enable View > Plot, then set Checkboxes to show CPU Frequencies (each core) and CPU Core Temperatures.

Let your notebook cool down then boot into Windows, start OpenHardwareMonitor with the Plot window then start the FLOPS Benchmark and pay attention to the type of test FLOPS is running, the CPU Frequency and Temperature.

I expect your CPU to heavily downlock in AVX tests and upon reaching high temperatures.

You should consider disabling Bi-Directional Processor Hot (BD PROCHOT), it is one of the sensors that trigger the throttling. Enabling the Power Saver feature would help as well, it lowers your CPU speed when it detects that a certain (low) amount of load is being put on your CPU stressing it down. (if you do, you should also go to options and set Powersaver C0% to 35)

user VADemon's is right, undervolting may really help your situation. I cannot use this feature as my processor is from an older generation but yours may be able to.

The temperatures seem fine but whenever I do something, they go over 90 again.

What am I do now?
