old Eagle nest destruction?

I hate to say this, but things have deteriorated to a point that it is either them or me!

"Them" here being the aggressive eagles. Their "turf" is huge and have on occasion attacked me right next to my camp. Killing one at night is almost always simply a way to prolong the sweet release of "death and reload".

There is a huge eagle's nest on what seems to be a big rock tower--something like a "fat" hourglass. So how can I destroy it? (assuming that this is the nearest re-spawn point for eagles).

I've tried a barrage of slung stones, fire arrows, and regular arrows. All change the graphic depiction some, but there is no sign of the nest being destroyed. The fire arrows make the nest glow for a second, then go out.


***SOLUTION***

It just took lots of pummeling. After going through about 160 hits with the pebbles and slingshot, it finally collapsed on itself, much like the planned demolition of a tall building: It sort of telescoped into itself, then fell over and is no more.

Let me try again, more focused and much shorter. . .


In the game, I am struck with devastating fires in camp on a frequent basis. For example, I am now playing on a big island and have experienced two tent fires and one storage box fire. I am on day 39.

I can extinguish the tent fire by striking and re-pitching the tent. The storage box fire can only be extinguished (so far) by seven bottles of water. Because you cannot reuse the bottles, and thus cannot use well or spring water, this makes it quite tiresome to spend so much time gathering leaves to make the seven waters needed for the next accidental fire.

I experienced this on the "Adventure" first island, as well. There I used a shelter initially, and it burned down several times. My storage box burned down just twice.

In response to previous suggestion, I un-installed the game and re-downloaded and re-installed it. Same problem.

I am perplexed because I hear others say they have never experienced a fire. Surely this can't be a coincidence of such magnitude?

With 30 leaves per water, that means 210 leaves.

These fires are happening to me about each 13 turns.

And, they will sometimes happen while I am away, across the island, and there is not enough time to get back.

It just seems that if campsite fires (tents, shelters, storage boxes, etc) are going to be that frequent, and if it will be so costly to rebuild, why can't I use water from the well I just dug right next to the (now in ashes) storage box?

I hope there is a solution here, other than just going back to the last autosave and re-living the day over again.

"random 1-10
If 1 then start fire."

If anyone knows where that file is then he/she could edit that and remove the campfire problem.

Also have you tried leaving you campfire put out?

as long as 10 days have passed since the last fire.

If you're computer is selecting that 17% chance too
often you can edit the line that reads:
$event=random(0,6);
Changing the 6 to a higher number will decrease the odds of a fire breaking out.

Or you can change it's frequencey by editing the line:
if (abs($lastfire-$subevent)>9){
Increasing the 9 will increase the minimum number
of days that must pass between fires.

Or you can change the > to = and there might be a fire
on day 9 only.

Or you can change the line :
if ($event==3){
Changing the 3 to a number higher then 6 will prevent
random fires from occuring as long as you don't change
the $event=random(0,6); line.

And perhaps it was your "jostle" that enabled Raven Shadow to respond so helpfully.

It may be that your plating level is too low to plant berries. Berries need a level of around 50, check you are at that level.

I am on the 4th island i think. with the village and i have to plant 10 crops before i can get off. I did everything else. I just dont know how to plant. Please help!!!
