Follow the instructions in readme
Create new folder. For example in

Then download Stranded 2, unzip it, and extract it to:

This will be in taxi edition. It's rendered from 3ds max, so it looks different with all that shadows, than in game.
The pic is hi-res, so enlarge it as you want

I tried to work with 3ds max for like 5 times, not a time with succeding making a model of a chiken 
All you can see here is anorganic form and it's not so difficult
About your tries. I suggest you to start again with the tutorials, so was my first experiences. I left modding Stranded for month or two and in that time I was just modeling. Packet of cigarettes, a pair fo compasses (like this one http://user.tninet.se/~hun806h/rcron31.jpg,) LCD monitor etc. There are really a lot of tutorials in any language. Don't give it up

The taxi edition is being finished, so I can tell you more about it
As I said:
You are a taxidriver named Kaufman. You're delivering passagers to the places they want and receiving money
What I didn't said:
You start with one taxiraptor.If you want more raptors, you'll have to buy a licence(in goverment center) that allows you to hunt and tame raptors.If you want your company (Kaufman cabs) to grow, You'll have to get employes.So you buy another licence that allows you to hire natives, they'll deliver passagers with you, for daily(?) salaryThere are several locations where your customers want's to go to, destination are generated randomly, and there is time limit, so it's funny even for me(I've created it..)I revealed MORE THAN ENOUGH now.
