Oh yes. Please continue developing this mod. The current version is a little bit too unbalanced to play in my opinion. But this mod is the best one. So please, continue developing. I just can't play original stranded 2, after playing with this mod. I think this is what stranded should have been.

I am unable to light a campfire in Massive Mod. I did search for this but haven't found anyone else with the same issue -- though there is a LOT of M.Mod info to go through and I'm sorry if I missed it!

When I light my campfire, it says it was started and then it instantly goes out. I've tried adding wood by taking branches in my hand and 'hitting' the campfire, and the number of branches goes down -- but I have never yet gotten it to light.

What am I doing wrong? Torches are similar, but they stay lit for 10 seconds or so. The campfire won't light at ALL.

Thanks!

You need to find the "right" place on the torch and camp fire and "use" it. It can be a bit annoying to find the spots that will work on the camp fire once you build a grill though. When you use it (in a spot that will notice it is being used) then it opens a screen a bit like a strage unit, but the camp fire/torch will only accept fuels (items marked with an "F")

Once you gave it fuel, then resume to play, then you can light them normally

Slow, thank you for your reply. I still don't understand, though -- "use" what? I don't know how to "use" a campfire... it has never been lit because when I "use" my flint on the campfire, it says "Fire started. The fire has gone out!" right away. When I "use" branches on the dead campfire, they disappear out of my inventory but the fire still can't be lit. What am I missing?

I can light a torch. I'll look for a "spot" to refuel the torch with branches. But the campfire simply doesn't work at ALL.

Without a fire, I can't cook, I can't forge iron to make basic tools, I'm pretty well stuck.

use it as in... point the little cursor in the middle of your screen toward it and press 'e'

Yeah, but use what?

I tried putting my cursor on the campfire with my hand empty and pressing 'e' and nothing happened.

I tried it with flint in my hand. Nothing happened. If I hit the fire with the flint, a message says it lights and goes out instantly.

I tried it with branches in my hand. Nothing happened. If I hit the fire with the branches, they disappear from my inventory. I put about 80 branches 'in' the campfire and tried to light it, but that had no effect either.

I've now tried it with the torch and can't find a 'spot' that does anything, and I can't get it to take branches out of my inventory to refuel it, either.

Slow mentioned items marked with an 'f' but I don't have any items marked with an 'f' or with anything else, so I'm not sure what was meant there either.

I'm starting to feel dumb I am sure I am missing something really stupid! Thank you for trying to help me.

You click e on the fire, and it opens up a transfer menu, transfer wood (twigs wool animal fat, anything that will burn and can be transfered) to the fire then hit it with your flint.

Thanks, Lion heart! Now at least I know what is going wrong.

I went back to my fire and tried clicking 'e' on it again with empty hands. I tried everywhere on the fire in case there was a special spot -- and I don't have a wood grill built on this fire yet.

Nothing. No transfer menu and no error message -- or any message of any sort.

I don't have my key mappings changed or anything -- 'e' is what I use to plant, to use items, and so on. But it does absolutely nothing on my campfire. Could there be a problem with my installation? I made sure I have the download from page 41 as directed in this thread, although the readme file included with it says "OUTDATED" repeatedly at the top. I have MMv3.1.

Then I'm sorry, but I'm not too sure I can help you...

I have a feeling the only thing I can say is download it again... don't worry though... you can keep your save files, but you are going to have to rebuild the fireplace once you download the mod again.

The place that works best for me is along the rocks on the outside of the camp-fire, but it is on an inside edge of it, near where you see the "branches" that are always shown on the camp-fire image. However, it is usually on two particular sides. so it can be annoying to find the first few times. I'm not sure how much it varies dependent upon where it is built or your angle. All I can say is walk around it pressing your use button with empty hands like mad until you find it

But once you manage a few times it gets easier when you learn better what spots to try to find

I love this mod, but as it gets balanced out, etc. I was wondering if I could edit the mod scripts to where the torches don't require fuel, and you only have to worry about relighting them when it rains. Because if I wanted a bunch of torches, I imagine it getting quite old quite fast to run around filling them up with fuel like you would your campfire. So I was wondering what I would change, and in what .inf file to revert the torches to where they didn't need fuel to keep lit?

Course I think I also saw a timer spot in torch entry, i could change from 10000 to maybe 100000 to make it burn fuel at least much much more slowly?

I finally figured out my campfire problem (it was stupid error on my part, I had an old version and although I'd re-downloaded, I hadn't run it correctly and was running a bugged copy as a result)

Now I have a totally different problem. I just finally built a mine. The first time I went into it, there was a ladder with torches and pillars behind me and I could dig out a passageway -- but nothing but stones and pebbles. I dug for a while then exited to get more food. When I went back it had totally changed -- no pillars, no torches, no ladder, but the mine was beautiful with crystals and seaweeds (??) and a lava chute (??) and I could mine up all sorts of stuff. Problem is I couldn't get back OUT because there was no ladder. Eventually I went back to an old save game before I had ever entered the mine for the first time. Now it's the pretty and ladderless version from the first time I enter it. I can go in, but I can't get back out! In this version, I haven't dug ANY passageways so it's very small and there's no chance I could be overlooking a ladder somewhere. It's just one little bitty room that I've explored every nook and cranny of, dozens of times.

What am I doing wrong? I really like the idea of the mine and it's gorgeous but it is useless if you can never leave! Anybody?

yeah, if you stand anywhere outside the mine and then 'use' (click E) the outside of the mine you'll find yourself somewhere inside the mine. If you enter by the door you will usually start at the ladder. The mine has one floorplan so once you know where the ladder is you can always dig yourself out. If you're in front of the lava forge, go left and then keep to the right untill you get to the ladder. Once you've gone left there are several passageways going off to the left so don't be fooled and stay to the right it is quite a way to the ladder. Good luck!

I have had the same problem in the past. One way to work around this is to carry the Arbalest and lots of Iron Bolts. You can shoot the mining rocks and they will disappear with very little effort. The advantage to this is that you don't use any energy to shoot the arbalest, and you can stay in the mine longer. If your ammo runs out, you can begin with picking up stones and throwing them at the rocks. This will take some of your energy, however it will only take a small fraction as compared to standing and hitting the rocks with a pickaxe, hammer, etc.

In addition, if you have the ability to carry coffee and food with you, you can reduce your energy, health, thirst, and be able to stay even longer. Hope this helps.

Hey, i'm playing on the mountain map and I keep dying of stavation.

I tried to fish, but I circled the island and there doesn't seem to be a SINGLE fishing spot. Does anyone know of a fishing spot that I can use to live for a few days?

Add some spots on the map editor or cheat.

You don't need a special fishing spot to catch fish. You just have to improve your fishing skills by fishing a lot and then you'll never go hungry again.
