Cant connect to LAN

I brother always wants to play against me, but he never can join my LAN server in any cs, probably in any game. We tried this in cs2d, cs 1.6 , cs source. Any solutions?

Try to check your or your brother's firewall settings it's caused by firewall rules in most cases, if it doesnt help use hamachi.

Yeah, firewall. And of course the router settings as well. Use Google for details.

For game CS2D:
1. Make sure you have Internet connection.
2a. Listen Server:
2a1. host as usual.
2a2. when host's game is loaded, tell clients to open LAN tab and connect to host's gameserver.
2b. Dedicated Server:
2b1. set settings on DS before running it.
2b2. All clients open LAN tab to join DS's gameserver.

Tip for Source games (Source game can be played on LAN without net):
1. for host, open console and run this command (you cannot remove the code because its the minimum required):

maxplayers 32;mp_roundtime 4;mp_timelimit 40;mp_freezetime 6;mp_buytime 0.6;
map de_dust;sv_lan 1;map de_dust2

2. for clients, its either:
2a. server browser (Multiplayer) > LAN tab
2b. open console and run:

connect <host ip>
